Those gif sets of female celebrities talking with no captions really bother me. Yes, Emma Watson, Nikki Manoj, Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway and so many others are all super beautiful women, but they also have really important things to say, and making gif sets of their interviews where their voices are literally stripped away is making a huge statement. It is saying “even when you are talking, no matter what you are talking about, we are not listening to what you’re saying. Even when you’re expressing yourself, all we care about is how you look.” If you want to admire them for how beautiful they are, they’ve all been in plenty of photo shoots. Go look at those. But when they are in interview trying to speak, stop stripping away their voices and sending the message of “you are a hot woman, so what you have to say doesn’t matter.”

I have been thinking this for ages and of course Emmett puts it into a wonderfully eloquent statement.

Friendly reminder this show was filmed in front of a live studio audience in one take.

And that all sitcom laugh tracks are taken from this show because the laughter was so sincere.

friendly reminder that this show was fuckin awesome

And most of the people who were recorded laughing are dead now. When you hear people laughing in sitcoms today, it’s the recorded laughter of dead people.

Well that escalated quickly

All I can say is…wow. Not a good feeling.
Officer Darren Wilson’s gofundme has more money donated than Michael Brown’s memorial fund. White privilege at it’s finest.
I don’t usually post about stuff like this, but please share this in hopes of more people donating to Michael Brown’s family. You can find the gofundme page: here.

SIGNAL BOOST THE HECK OUT OF THIS

So many more people have donated to Michael Brown’s memorial fund… but people who are committed to racial and social justice are also less likely to be rich, so.(The average donation to MB memorial fund is $25 while the average donation to Darren Wilson is over $40.)
Edited to add: Darren Wilson fund is now up to $189k while Michael Brown’s memorial fund is at $146k.

  • TVGuide: So who’s the earliest [on set]?
  • Ethan Phillips: Kate is extremely punctual, well prepared, never flubs a line.
  • Kate Mulgrew: I do too!
  • Robert Beltran: I've counted three times this season.
  • Robert Picardo: When Kate flubs a line, don’t you feel just a little better about yourselves?
  • Robert Duncan McNeill: It even makes me feel better about bad things that happened years ago.
  • Picardo: Yeah, being made fun of in fourth grade doesn't hurt as much when Kate flubs a line.

a restaurant in my hometown got a review that said the servers should “show some skin” so the owner added a potato skin special to the menu and all the proceeds from the special go to the west virginia foundation for rape information services (x)

That’s exactly the appropriate response.

Yes, this is true. Residents have been cleaning up the streets of Ferguson everyday since the protests started 10-11 days ago. There are also people volunteering at the local library to teach children.

The way TV portrays therapists is the reason therapy is so stigmatized.
